Portuguese wines put to the test at SAGALEXPO

SAGALEXPO reinforces the emphasis given to the wine sector, thanks to its partnership with ViniPortugal, the main entity responsible for promoting and publicizing Portuguese wines abroad. As part of this collaboration, on April 29, there will be a seminar with a guided tasting dedicated to Portuguese wines, led by Sofia Salvador, a trainer at ViniPortugal.

Aimed exclusively at buyers and international distributors, this event is a unique opportunity to deepen your knowledge of Portuguese wines, grape varieties, the unique terroirs of each region, and emerging market trends.

The session includes a technical and guided tasting of wines representative of various Portuguese wine regions, such as the Douro, Alentejo, Dão, Vinhos Verdes, Bairrada, and Setúbal Peninsula, highlighting the extraordinary diversity of styles and profiles that the country has to offer. The aim is to provide participants with a guided sensory experience, where they can learn in detail about the characteristics that distinguish Portuguese wines.

This action is particularly relevant at a time when Portuguese wine exports grew by 4.46% in 2024, reaching €965.8 million, with France (€103.4 million) and the United States (€102.1 million) continuing to lead the way in terms of sales. The figures reflect the consistent positioning and recognition of Portuguese wines on a global scale.

The ViniPortugal tasting is part of a series of SAGALEXPO activities focused on B2B business, offering foreign buyers exclusive, direct, and qualified access to national producers in an environment geared towards networking and new business.
